Ramadan Start Time Schedule:
Ramadan 2024 will begin on Monday, 11 March 2024, 1445 Hijri in most countries of the world. But Bangladeshi Muslims will start it a day later and from Tuesday 12 March 2024 due to their geographical location. Ramadan may continue till Wednesday, 10 April 2024 and hopefully Eid ul Fitr will be celebrated 30 days later on 11 April 2024 in Bangladesh.
However, it is known that both Ramadan and Eid begin with the rising of the new Arabic (Hijri) moon. A Hijri year is a lunar year. So Ramadan and Eid festival must be dependent on moon rise.
Why Ramadan starts later in Bangladesh:
In Bangladesh the lunar month/year usually starts one day later than the rest of the world or the Middle East due to its geographical location. So most countries of the world celebrate Ramadan, Eid or Hijri year one day earlier than us.
The Quran states about Ramadan:
“O you who believe, fasting is enjoined upon you as it was enjoined upon those before you, that you may be righteous.” [Al-Baqarah 2:183]
