Happy 76th Indian Independence Day 2023: Best Wishes & Images
Happy 76th Indian Independence Day 2023: Wishes, Quotes, Messages & HD Images! India will commemorate its 76th anniversary of independence on August 15. As Indians, we honor all the leaders who heroically battled for the freedom of our country in the past. The Indian Prime Minister will raise the tricolor at the Red Fort in Old Delhi on August 14, 2023, the nation’s Independence Day. He will also address the country in a speech. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, all cultural events and school holidays will not take place this year. The 15th of August, Independence Day, has been designated a national holiday, so all government offices, post offices, banks, and retail establishments will be closed on that day.
What is Independence Day’s history?
India was ruled by the British for a long time. For about 100 years, the East India Company ruled India. The East India Company triumphed at the Battle of Plassey in 1757. Following the victory, the Company began to control India. The first time our country rebelled against foreign domination was in 1957. Against British authority, the entire nation stood together. India was vanquished at the time, and it was a regrettable incident. The British took over Indian rule after that and ruled it until India gained its independence. For many years, our nation fought to become independent. After two world wars, Britain started to lose strength, and India was ultimately free. India’s nonviolent movement for independence has always served as an example to the rest of the globe.
When will India commemorate its Independence Day 2023?
India became independent at midnight on August 15, 1947. Jawaharlal Nehru, our first prime minister, began his speech with the lovely words, “At the stroke of midnight, while the world sleeps, India shall awake to life and independence.” Unfortunately, after gaining independence, India was split into Pakistan and India. Instead of the 15th of August, Pakistan commemorates its Independence Day on August 14.
